IUKA, Miss - If you were downtown in the afternoons last week you noticed the workers on Front Street as they blocked off sections.
FunderGlow Holiday & Event Lighting from Belmont, Miss, is installing the lighting system.
The City of Iuka funded phase one and two of the lighting project.
The Iuka Development & Economic Association (IDEA) is overseeing the project, and currently raising money to fund phase three.
According to their Facebook page, they have raised $3,000 toward their goal of $15,000 for lights and three decorative poles which will be used to anchor the lights where there is no existing structure.
If you are interested in donating to the lighting improvement you can contact any member of the IDEA group.
If you have ventured downtown during the week, you can also hear music being played. It only adds to the charm.
