BELMONT, MS - Though Belmont’s two-week fundraiser narrowly missed its $15,000 goal, the $12,810 raised is still a significant accomplishment. Support for the fundraiser came from all 50 states, with contributions from 435 donors who made this achievement possible. These funds will directly support the construction of an outdoor classroom, which the school plans to complete this year, even if the purchase of tables needs to be delayed.

The successful fundraiser also brought rewards for the students. They earned new PE equipment, including dodgeballs and a parachute, which will enhance their activities. Additionally, a glow dance party is in the works, with the date to be announced soon. Middle school students will enjoy new tabletop games, and everyone will be treated to an afternoon watching a scrimmage game.

In recognition of their outstanding efforts, the top two fundraising students received Dude Perfect gift baskets and Hoverboards. To celebrate the conclusion of the fundraiser, the K-6th grades participated in a Fun Run, while the 7th and 8th graders enjoyed a Color Run. The students had a fantastic time running to music and cooling off with Popsicles afterward. Many parents came out to cheer on the kids, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The school community’s hard work and enthusiasm have brought them closer to their goals, and they look forward to the continued progress on the outdoor classroom project.
