TISHOMINGO, Miss - Twice per nine weeks, three students at Tishomingo School are rewarded for doing good deeds. When teachers notice students helping others without being asked, they nominate those students for “Positive Paws.” The names of the students nominated are placed on designated bulletin boards in three different buildings and one student from each building is chosen, by the school counselor, to receive prizes. These incentives are intended to reinforce good character traits such as being polite, using good manners, the Golden Rule and Random Acts of Kindness.
Beginning last school year, one teacher is also recognized during each drawing. Students and staff can nominate a teacher.
