I want to take a moment to explain a couple of things about the newspaper.
The newspaper office has received an abundance of news over the last couple of weeks. Figuring out what makes the paper and what does not is a daunting weekly decision, especially when our community has many good things happening.
We work to bring quality, informative content to our readers each week. Instead of these stories never being published, we will start putting them on our website in addition to the news stories from the printed edition.
We will continue to strive to bring you quality content weekly. Please email us anytime at contact@tishco.news with upcoming information about events or stories for the paper. We cannot cover what we do not know is happening.
This week’s paper will look somewhat different than usual. It is our standard to provide a weekly paper with full-color pictures. The decision was out of our hands this week. Due to the port workers’ strike (yes, I know it has ended), the printer limited us to only four-color pages. The page numbers allowed to be colored are determined by the printer. We hope, now that the strike is temporarily over, we can return to a full-color paper next week. We should know soon how long these limits will be in place.
As editor, I am doing everything possible to make the best of this situation due to circumstances out of our control. Picking what stories made it on the color pages and what did not was difficult. This also caused the entire layout to change. Belmont Homecoming coverage deserved color pages as well as the front page.
The design was a challenge, but as our valued reader, I want you to know the reason behind the change. Due to the color page configuration, some things that always appear on a specific page were moved. Once we receive the green light to print in full color, those pages will return to their usual location.

We apologize for the changes, and we value our customers and advertisers.
