BELMONT, Miss - Students at Belmont Schools were treated to an informative session last week when Mississippi State University admissions counselor, Jesse Baird, visited campus. Ms. Baird provided a wealth of information about what makes MSU a standout choice for higher education in Mississippi and beyond.

During her presentation, Ms. Baird highlighted several key points about the university. MSU conducts more research than any other institution in the state, contributing to advancements in multiple fields. The university also boasts one of the top veterinary science programs in the country, drawing students from across the nation.

She also discussed the unique opportunities offered through MSU's Education Department, including its collaboration with the Starkville Oktibbeha School District. This partnership allow all 6th and 8th graders in the district to attend MSU’s Partnership School, giving future educators real-world teaching experience while offering middle school students a one-of-a-kind learning environment.

Additionally, MSU places a strong emphasis on student success. With a variety of resources like mentorship programs, peer-to-peer tutoring, and specialized student services, the university ensures that its students are well-supported throughout their academic journey.
